LOS ANGELES – The 2016 USC women’s soccer schedule is now available, with the Trojans starting the campaign on Sunday, Aug. 14 against Air Force in an exhibition match at McAlister Field. They open up the 2016 regular-season slate on Friday, Aug. 19 at Santa Clara.
The Trojans, fresh off their 2015 NCAA Sweet Sixteen run, have are set to play nine teams that made the NCAA postseason in 2016.
Under the leadership of third-year head coach Keidane McAlpine, the Trojans are set to play 10 regular-season games on the road and nine regular-season games at the friendly confines of McAlister Field. The regular-season home opener is set for 4:30 p.m. PT on Friday, Sept. 9 vs. Loyola Marymount. Prior to that the Trojans will play two exhibition games at McAlister Field, first on Aug. 14 against Air Force at 1 p.m. PT and then on Aug. 21 at 4 p.m. PT against Beijing Normal.
10 of the Trojans’ 19 regular-season games will be televised live on the Pac-12 Networks, along with the exhibition game against Beijing Normal.
Nonconference highlights include perennial favorite North Carolina (Sept. 11) and Kansas (Sept. 16). In conference, the Trojans will host powerhouse Stanford (Oct. 6) and crosstown rival UCLA (Nov. 4).
The Trojans return 21 student-athletes from last season’s squad that finished second in the Pac-12 and finished 15-6-2 in the NCAA Sweet Sixteen.
