Two key Texas linemen were absent during last Saturday’s double-overtime home win over Kansas State. Defensive tackle Chris Nelson and center Zach Shackelford were sidelined with injury against the Wildcats, and were questionable heading into this week’s preparation for the 112th Red River Showdown.

Tom Herman delivered the latest on the Longhorns status.

“Both are full speed ahead,” the first-year head coach said Thursday.

Nelson was “gimpy” after spraining his ankle in practice prior to K-State, according to Herman. Shackelford also dealt with an ankle injury that held him out of the Longhorns’ first home game of Big 12 play.
