ANN ARBOR – Does Michigan have a chance to land Dylan Moses, the nation’s No. 1 2017 linebacker?
Moses, a five-star linebacker/running back prospect from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., announced via Twitter Thursday afternoon that he won’t make a college decision until December.
“It’s no specific day yet but every school WILL HAVE A CHANCE till then,” Moses tweeted.
Moses, who transferred from University Lab in Baton Rouge, La., to IMG for his senior season, was once committed to LSU before reopening his recruitment. In April he told NOLA.com that Texas was his new No. 1 school, Alabama was No. 2, UCLA and LSU were tied for third, followed by USC.
“As far as the facilities and the state of Texas, I already loved it,” Moses told NOLA.com. “I told myself at the end of my career I want to live in Houston. So as far as them trying to impress me with their facilities that was already done.
“All I wanted to hear was how I fit in the defense and as far as that conversation I really liked it and it went well and that’s why I have them at number one.”
At 6-foot-2 and 220 pounds, Moses, is the No. 1 outside linebacker and No. 2 player overall in the 2017 class, according to 247 Sports Composite rankings. He has 40 offers, including one from Michigan that came in March, following the Wolverines’ week of practice at IMG. Moses watched the open practice but, by rule, was not allowed to speak to any Michigan coaches or staff members.
Moses is one of a number of IMG players Michigan is recruiting, including four-star center Cesar Ruiz, four-star linebacker Jordan Anthony, four-star wide receiver Jhamon Ausbon, four-star guard Robert Hainsey and four-star safety Grant Delpit.
