ANN ARBOR — Michigan is now an undisputed top-10 football team.
The Wolverines came in at No. 8 in both the Associated Press Top 25 poll (media) and the Amway Coaches Poll released Tuesday.
Michigan jumped three spots in the new AP poll, up from No. 11, and is now ranked higher than Wisconsin. The Badgers held steady at No. 9 after a blowout win over Utah State, and Penn State (No. 4) jumped two spots after crushing Akron.
Ohio State is still the highest-ranked team in the Big Ten, at No. 2. To no surprise, Alabama is No. 1 in both polls.
In the updated coaches’ poll, Michigan moved up one spot, from No. 9, while Wisconsin dropped one spot to No. 11.
OSU remains No. 2 there as well after handling Indiana, with PSU checking in at No. 6.
The Wolverines (1-0) are coming off an impressive 33-17 win over the Florida Gators at AT&T Stadium. They host Cincinnati in a nationally televised game on Saturday at Michigan Stadium (Noon, ABC).
