ANN ARBOR — Michigan will officially be a Nike school again Aug. 1.
And The M Den, Michigan’s official merchandise retailer, will be ready the second the calendar turns.
The store will host a special Nike event on the evening of July 31 that will culminate in a midnight opening of The M Den on Campus location (303 S. State Street) on Aug. 1.
All other M Den locations will be open at 10 a.m. Aug. 1, the first day the store can sell Michigan’s new Nike merchandise.
Last summer, the athletic department signed a $173.8 million contract with Nike that will last up to 15 years.
Michigan’s football program will become the first in America to be outfitted by Nike’s “Jordan Brand.” The men’s and women’s basketball programs will also receive Jordan gear beginning next season.
The school’s current contract with Adidas will expire, officially, July 31.
