Gold Rush/Stripe the Stadium/True Blue Games

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – (July 1, 2016) – Mountaineer football is celebrating its 125th year and the 2016 season opener against Missouri on Saturday, Sept. 3, will be a Gold Rush presented by the West Virginia Lottery at Mountaineer Field at Milan Puskar Stadium.

All fans are encouraged to wear Gold for the matchup with the Tigers out of the SEC.

West Virginia’s first Big 12 Conference home game against Kansas State on Saturday, Oct. 1 will be the Stripe the Stadium game presented by Staples.

Fans sitting in even-numbered sections (Sec. 102, 104, 202, 204 etc.), Touchdown Terrace and WVU students seated in the upper level student sections are encouraged to wear Gold to the Homecoming game.

Fans sitting in odd-numbered sections (Sec. 101, 103, 201, 203, etc.) and WVU students seated in the lower level student sections are encouraged to wear Blue to the game.

The Mountaineers’ matchup with Oklahoma on Saturday, Nov. 19, will be True Blue presented by GoMart at Mountaineer Field at Milan Puskar Stadium.

The matchup with Youngstown State on Sept. 10 has been designated as Family Day presented by I-77 Auto Group. Fans can purchase four tickets and a $25 concessions voucher for $150 per Family Day package.

WVU’s game with TCU on Oct. 22 will be Breast Cancer Awareness Day presented by WVU Medicine.

“It’s about two months until the kickoff of a 2016 seven-game home schedule this fall,” says Matt Wells, senior associate athletic director for external affairs. “And just like every other Mountaineer fan, we are looking forward to game days at Milan Puskar Stadium as we celebrate 125 years of Mountaineer football.”

Single-game tickets and mini-packages will go on sale, Wednesday, July 6, at 9 a.m. Fans can purchase tickets at WVUGAME.com or by calling 1-800-WVU GAME.
