Women's Tennis Advances in NCAA Tournament

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Virginia – For the second consecutive year and the seventh time in school history, the 18th-ranked LSU women’s tennis team advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament with a 4-0 win over Columbia Friday afternoon at the Snyder Tennis Courts.

LSU dominated the Lions to secure its 19th win of the season. The Lady Tigers will take on either Virginia or Fairleigh-Dickson at 2 p.m. CT Saturday with a chance to advance to the Round of 16 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Freshman Jessica Golovin clinched the win over the Lions with a 7-5, 6-1 win over Rima Astrian. Golovin improved to 12-14 for the dual season with the win.
