One of the more noticeable aspects of Texas’ 2006 Rose Bowl, outside of Vince Young’s fourth-and-five run, was just how much talent was on the field that night.
In all, the Longhorns had 20 players drafted from that 2005 team. USC, for its part, had 25 players from its team selected in the draft over the next few years. That also doesn’t include players that eventually went undrafted and appeared in an NFL game.
“Both sides, all the NFL guys, all the talent period,” said Michael Huff, a safety on the 2005 Texas team that went on to play eight years in the league. “To see all the young guys, they weren’t starters, they didn’t play much then, but to see them now.”
Texas even has a few still playing in the league, 12 years after the unforgettable game. Here’s a look at who they are.
