Texas true freshman defensive back injured in bowl practices

Texas true freshman safety Montrell Estell suffered an ankle injury on Wednesday during bowl practices, a source with knowledge of the situation told Horns247.

Estell, a four-star prospect in the 2017 recruiting class (No. 234 overall in the 247Sports Composite rankings), has been redshirting this season and wasn’t expected to play for Texas against Missouri in the Academy Sports + Outdoors Texas Bowl on Dec. 27.

The extent of Estell’s injury is unknown at this time.
