Seven Named to Academic All-Big 12 Team

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Seven members of the West Virginia University baseball team have been named to the Academic All-Big 12 Team, the conference announced today.

Cramer, Corso, Davis and Vance were recognized on an Academic All-Big 12 Team for the second consecutive season.

First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.

To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher and must have participated in 60 percent of their team’s scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.

Up next for the Mountaineers, the home season concludes this weekend vs. William and Mary at Monongalia County Ballpark. The series begins with a doubleheader on Friday, May 13, at 4 p.m. The second game will begin approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one. After an off day on Saturday, WVU hosts Senior Day on Sunday at 1 p.m. Before the game, the Mountaineers will honor their four seniors, Jeff Hardy, KC Huth, Blake Smith and Ross Vance.
