Season Opener with Hawaii Slated for Noon Kickoff on ESPN

ROSEMONT, Ill. — The Big Ten Conference, ESPN and the University of Michigan football program have jointly announced Tuesday (May 17) that the 2016 season opener against Hawaii on Saturday, Sept. 3, has been selected for a noon kickoff on ESPN. This will be the third meeting between the two schools.

Hawaii will be making its first-ever appearance at Michigan Stadium. The two schools played previously on two occasions at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii. The Wolverines defeated the Rainbow Warriors by a 27-10 score during the 1986 season and 48-17 during the 1998 season.

The start time and TV network designation for the remaining non-conference games will be announced at a later date.
