ANN ARBOR – Michigan already has 12 players committed to its 2017 class but is still lacking a wide receiver.
One of its top targets, IMG Academy 2017 receiver Jhamon Ausbon, is warming up on the Wolverines, according to a report from 247 Sports.
“Michigan’s going to be highly considered for me going forward,” he told 247 Sports. “I want to check them out.”
Ausbon, who checks in at 6-foot-2 and 217 pounds, is a four-star recruit, the No. 9 receiver in the nation and No. 65 overall prospect, according to 247 Sports Composite rankings. The former Baylor commit announced in December that he would transfer from St. Thomas High School in Houston to IMG in Bradenton, Fla., where Michigan held a week of spring practice. He has 17 offers, including Michigan, Auburn, LSU and Texas A&M.
Ausbon is one of the top receivers in the nation Michigan is pursuing, along with five-star targets Donovan Peoples-Jones from Cass Tech in Detroit, Joseph Lewis from Augustus F. Hawkins High School in Los Angeles where Michigan will hold a satellite camp on June 25 and Tee Higgins, from Oak Ridge High School in Tennessee, who recently said he wants to visit Michigan soon.
