FORT WORTH, Texas – Heavy overnight rains caused tournament officials to alter plans and groupings for the final round of the Dean & DeLuca Invitational.
Play was slated to begin at 7:30 a.m. local time in pairs of two, but the start of final round was pushed back nearly three hours because of the wet conditions. As a result, the PGA Tour opted to re-group the field of 70 into groups of three off Nos. 1 and 10 tees.
This means that an anchor pairing featuring two local favorites won’t go off quite as planned. Jordan Spieth, who leads by one shot through 54 holes, was scheduled to play with Colonial Country Club member Ryan Palmer at 1 p.m. CT. Instead, Spieth and Palmer will be joined by Webb Simpson, who also trails by one shot, in the day’s final threesome at 12:20 p.m.
The penultimate group of Harris English, Kyle Reifers and Martin Piller – all two shots behind Spieth – will now tee off at 12:09 p.m.
