The Rebels lost the coin toss for the first time this season. Ole Miss is now 2-1 on the year in the opening coin toss.

• Ole Miss is now 1-1 all time in the state of California.

OFFENSIVE NOTES

• Sophomore QB Shea Patterson threw 363 yards, including TD strikes of 71 and 72 yards. This marked the second game in his career with two 70-plus yard touchdown passes becoming the only player in school history to accomplish the feat.

• Freshman WR D.K. Metcalf hauled in a career long 71-yard TD reception in the second quarter. Metcalf finished the game with three receptions for a career-high 125 yards and his first career 100-yard receiving game.

• Junior WR DaMarkus Lodge hauled in a career long 72-yard touchdown catch in the first quarter. Lodge finished the game with four catches for 100 yards and his second straight 100-yard receiving game.

• Freshman WR Tre Nixon recorded his first career reception, a 19-yard catch on third down in the first quarter.

DEFENSIVE NOTES

• Junior DB C.J. Moore recorded his first two career interceptions both in the second quarter. Moore is the first Rebel with two picks in the same time since Zedrick Woods last year against Memphis. He finished the game with nine tackles (four solo) and 0.5 TFL.

• Senior LB DeMarquis Gates tied a career high with 14 tackles including a career-best 11 solo stops.

• Junior DT Breeland Speaks posted his first QB sack of the season with a solo stop in the second quarter.

SPECIAL TEAMS NOTES

• Freshman K Luke Logan attempted his first career field in the fourth quarter. He missed the attempt from 48 yards.
