ANN ARBOR, MI – When Tom Anderson isn’t cleaning teeth, he is tailgating in his Michigan-themed bus just outside of Michigan Stadium.
Anderson, a Howell resident and graduate of the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 1989, brings his tailgating machine to every home game as well as a couple of away games each year.
He purchased the bus 12 years ago, and after a year of outfitting the bus, it has become one of the most decorated tailgating vehicles around.
“Pretty much everybody is curious,” he said of passing fans.
The bus attracts the attention of nearly all who walk by, as well as current and former Michigan athletics personalities.
Among the memorabilia inside, Anderson has a growing collection of signatures just above the drivers section of the vehicle, including past coaches and players such as Jabril Peppers, and even the most decorated Olympian of all time, Michael Phelps.
In addition to the memorabilia and signatures, Anderson has equipped the bus with everything a tailgater needs, including a kegerator and multiple televisions inside and out.
“We’ve got all kinds of fun stuff,” he said.
