Michigan and Michigan State both made the cut for one of the top 2017 linebackers in the nation.
De’Andre Wilder, a four-star recruit from Miami Carol City High School in Florida, released a his top 11 colleges via Twitter on Wednesday and listed Michigan, Michigan State, Miami, Cal, Colorado, West Virginia, Florida, Auburn, Notre Dame, Louisville and LSU. Earlier in the day Wilder said he would release a top seven but broadened the list. LSU wasn’t included in a top 10 graphic Wilder tweeted, but he said the Tigers can be added to the list.
Wilder, 6-foot-2 and 197 pounds, is the No. 23 outside linebacker and No. 275 player overall in the 2017 class, according to 247 Sports Composite rankings. He has 27 total offers and took unofficial visits to Michigan and Michigan State in March.
Michigan has 12 players committed to its 2017 class, including two linebackers in four-star Josh Ross from Orchard Lake St. Mary’s and three-star Ben Mason from Newtown High School in Connecticut. Michigan State has eight players committed to its 2017 class but has yet to add a linebacker.
