Knost spending week in Spieth’s ‘little shack’

IRVING, Texas – Living out of a suitcase is part of life on the PGA Tour, but this week Colt Knost decided to trade a hotel room for something a little more cozy.

“I’m slumming over there, that little shack he’s got,” Knost laughed on Wednesday when asked if he was staying with Jordan Spieth this week.

Knost attended Southern Methodist University, lived in Dallas for most of his life and still has family in the area, but he decided to move to Scottsdale, Ariz., a month ago.

So Spieth offered Knost accommodations at his $7.1 million mansion.

“It’s pretty special, real cool house,” Knost said. “I would never need to leave. It’s got everything you need there except I was giving him a hard time. There’s a TV every 3 feet in the house except in the bedroom I’m staying in. We changed that pretty quickly, though.”

Spieth’s mansion includes a golf-simulator room, indoor basketball court and a 12-car underground garage. But the most important question is, who’s doing the cooking?

“It’s certainly not Jordan,” Knost smiled.
