J’Marick Woods still firm on Michigan commit after LSU offer

May 31, 2016

ANN ARBOR – J’Marick Woods has been committed to Michigan for more than two months but that isn’t stopping LSU from pursuing him.

Woods, a three-star safety from Florence, Ala., announced via Twitter Tuesday morning that he received an offer from LSU. However, in a text message sent to MLive, he said he’s still firm on his commitment to Michigan.

Woods, 6-foot-4 and 220 pounds, is the No. 25 safety and No. 329 player overall for the 2017 class, according to 247 Sports Composite rankings. He has 15 offers, including two (LSU and Arkansas) since he verbally committed to Michigan on March 28.

“My coaches, my teammates, my family, they all just supported me when I said I wanted to make a decision,” he told MLive in April. “They all supported me 100 percent. I prayed about it, I asked the Lord and I just felt like it was the right decision for me overall.”
