TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama saw another impressive list of seven players drafted in the first three rounds of the 2016 National Football League Draft this past weekend. Since the conclusion of the NFL Draft on Sunday, eight more players have earned an opportunity in the National Football League by signing undrafted free-agent contracts.
Quarterback Jake Coker signed with the Arizona Cardinals while linebacker Dillon Lee and defensive end D. J. Pettway signed with the New Orleans Saints. The Washington Redskins also signed a pair of Tide players – offensive lineman Dominick Jackson and defensive back Geno Matias-Smith. Wide receiver Richard Mullaney (Houston Texans), fullback Michael Nysewander (Kansas City Chiefs) and defensive tackle Darren Lake (San Francisco 49ers) also signed free-agent deals.
The Crimson Tide has seen 55 players drafted in the past eight years, including a staggering 18 in the first round and 35 in the first three rounds.
