Kickoff set for SC, MTSU, Ga. Tech and WKU games
Kickoff times have been announced for Vanderbilt’s first four games of the upcoming season.
The announcement features kick times for a key Southeastern Conference matchup against South Carolina and important non-conference games against Middle Tennessee, Georgia Tech and Western Kentucky.
The Vanderbilt-South Carolina game, scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 1 in Vanderbilt Stadium, will open ESPN’s college football season. A national television audience will watch the Commodores and Gamecocks kick at 7 p.m. CT.
On Saturday, Sept. 10, the Commodores stay on campus to host Middle Tennessee, with kickoff at 3 p.m. The Vanderbilt-MTSU matchup will air on SEC Network Alternate.
The Commodores will go on the road during Weeks 3 and 4 of the season, facing Georgia Tech of the Atlantic Coast Conference on Sept. 17 in Atlanta and Western Kentucky on Sept. 24 in Bowling Green. The Vanderbilt-Georgia Tech game will kick at 11:30 a.m. CT, and air on the ACC Network.
The VU-WKU game, originally set for a 2:30 p.m. CT kickoff, has been moved to 3:30 p.m. CT, and will be televised by the CBS College Sports Network.
Following the Western Kentucky game, the Commodores face three straight SEC opponents: Florida in Nashville on Oct. 1, Kentucky in Lexington on Oct. 8 and Georgia in Athens on Oct. 15. Vanderbilt returns home Oct. 22 to face cross-town Tennessee State for homecoming weekend.
After being idle Oct 29, Vanderbilt concludes the regular season with a four-game stretch against SEC competition: at Auburn on Nov. 5, at Missouri on Nov. 12, vs. Ole Miss on Nov. 19 and vs. Tennessee on Nov. 26.
The Commodores return 16 starters and 55 letterwinners from an improved 2015 squad that finished fourth in the SEC East. The campaign included victories over SEC East foes Missouri and Kentucky.
Season tickets for the Commodores’ six-game home schedule starts at only $250 for premium sideline seats and $135 for end-zone sections of Vanderbilt Stadium. Tickets can be purchased at here.
