The men’s 8K is slated to begin at 8 a.m., followed by the women at 8:45 a.m.

“Like all sports, you’re looking to get better each time out,” said MSU coach Houston Franks, whose team is ranked No. 2 in the South Region. “We’ve had ideal weather to train the last two weeks, and I’m looking forward to seeing how that translates this weekend. We’ve had a few injuries to deal with, and I want to see who is going to step up and show what they are capable of doing.”

After sitting out the first meet, junior Shannon Fair is making her debut this weekend.

She will be joined by Stephanie Peterson, Kristy Terp, Audrey Honiotes, Katherine Badham and Emma Tucker, all who finished in the Top 10 at the Falcon Classic. Peterson, a sophomore from Chattanooga, placed second with a time of 18:54.9.

After Saturday, MSU is off for two weeks before competing at the Paul Short Invitational in Allentown, Penn.
