Authorities say five pedestrians, including three children, were seriously injured when a car fleeing the scene of an earlier accident hit them in northwest Las Vegas on Saturday evening.

A Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department spokesman said in a statement that two of the children were in critical condition.

Police say the suspect fled the second scene as well but was found less than two miles away and arrested.

No further information was available on the victims or the suspect.
